RIA Novosti source: Zaluzhny underwent a craniotomy after being wounded near Kherson
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny was wounded in early May as a result of a Russian strike on a command post near Kherson. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a source in law enforcement agencies.
As a result of the shelling, according to the agency, he received a head injury and shrapnel wounds. To provide first aid, Zaluzhny was transported to Nikolaev, from where he was taken by helicopter to a military hospital in Kyiv.
It is noted that the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army underwent a craniotomy. According to the doctors' forecast, Zaluzhny will live, but he will no longer be able to perform his duties.
Some time ago, Zaluzhny stopped appearing in public after a series of strikes inflicted by the Russian army on military facilities in Ukraine. At the same time, there were reports that he was injured and, in this regard, he could leave his post.
