TOKYO, May 25 Eldest son and private secretary of the prime minister Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida Shotaro received a strict reprimand from his father for behavior inappropriate to his status, said government secretary general Hirokazu Matsuno.
At the end of last year, the weekly magazine «Sukang bunsun» held a year-end party at the official residence of the prime minister, where he invited about ten of his friends and relatives. The guests, in particular, were photographed on the front staircase, covered with a red carpet, where the official shooting of members of the cabinet of ministers always takes place after approval by the emperor.
«I am aware of these reports. As far as I know, the prime minister made a strict reprimand to Secretary Shotaro Kishida to carry out his duties with a heightened sense of responsibility,» Matsuno stressed.
This is not the first time that the behavior of the eldest son of the Japanese prime minister required an official explanation.
In January, Shotaro Kishida, who works as the prime minister's personal secretary for political affairs, was at the center of a scandal over the use of official vehicles of Japanese embassies for tourist trips during a recent foreign tour of the head of the Japanese government. Another embarrassment occurred during the stay of the Japanese delegation in Canada, when Shotaro Kishida asked for a joint photo with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
