«Food security is the foundation of the foundations… The following tasks need to be solved in this area: firstly, to determine the list of critical import goods for the food market of the member states of the union through the capabilities of their own production facilities, their expansion and creation of new ones,» said Belarusian leader.
Secondly, in the opinion of the President of Belarus, it is necessary to ensure convergence in the EAEU of measures of state support for agriculture and the legal framework for its provision, taking into account national interests. Thirdly, to quickly carry out the digitalization of production processes in crop and livestock production.
Lukashenko stated that the level of self-sufficiency of the EAEU space for most products today is 80-95% for most products, 132% for grain, 151% for oilseeds.
«The surplus is bought with pleasure on the world markets. The demand for food is colossal and growing,» the Belarusian leader noted.
