MOSCOW, May 24.The issues of import substitution in terms of navigation databases are given due attention by the developer of the SSJ100 aircraft during the system monitoring of the Federal Air Transport Agency, while flight safety is a priority, the Federal Air Transport Agency told reporters.
The newspaper «Kommersant» wrote earlier on Wednesday that the main operators of the SSJ100 complained about failures and incomplete information in the built-in navigation base of the aircraft. The publication clarified that after the French Thales stopped updating software for Russia in 2022, the manufacturer of this airliner, Irkut, approved the use of the database of the St. Petersburg Avia Briefing.
«Import substitution issues in relation to navigation databases (NBD) are given due attention by the developer of the Sukhoi Superjet aircraft — Irkut Corporation PJSC during system monitoring At the same time, flight safety is a priority,» the Federal Air Transport Agency said.
They added that navigation databases of two domestic suppliers are currently allowed for use: Aviabriefing LLC and the Center for Aeronautical Information of the CAI, a branch of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise State ATM Corporation.
The procedural issues of ensuring regulatory requirements have been worked out by the Federal Air Transport Agency with base suppliers, the aircraft developer and operators.
PJSC «Irkut Corporation» informed the Federal Air Transport Agency and interested parties about the necessary work with both suppliers of bases for checking the performance of aircraft systems and downloadable navigation databases. Also about the actions taken to update the documentation of the Sukhoi Superjet aircraft, aimed at resolving issues that arise during operation,» the ministry added.
