Tokayev's spokesman: Kazakhstan will not join «union states»
Kazakhstan is not going to create or join any allied states. This was announced on social networks by the press secretary of the President of the Republic Ruslan Zheldibay.
On Wednesday, May 24, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in the plenary session of the Eurasian Economic Forum in Moscow.
Then he drew attention to the fact that in the structure of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) there is «an association of the Union State of Russia and Belarus.» He called such relations between Moscow and Minsk a «phenomenon».
As Zheldibai noted, Tokayev’s key message is that integration within the EAEU should take place “exclusively along the economic track.”
The EAEU includes Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. This year, Moscow presides over the union's bodies.
