Belarusian citizen convicted of illegal export of military products from Russia
In Minsk, a court sentenced a citizen accused of illegally importing military products from the Russian Federation to six years in prison. According to the Prosecutor General's Office of Belarus, the defendant was also fined 14.8 thousand Belarusian rubles, which is equivalent to about $5.1 thousand.
According to the investigation, in August 2022, the defendant transported military items across the state border in his car destination. The prosecutor's office did not specify what type of weapons the items belonged to.
It is reported that the accused pleaded guilty in full and stated that, as an individual entrepreneur, he was engaged in the sale of dual-use products. Also, the person involved in the case said that he was versed in such products, as he had previously served in the armed forces.
