NALCHIK, May 29. The investigating authorities of Kabardino-Balkaria opened a criminal case against a local resident who attacked a policeman with knives, the attacker was wounded in the leg, SUSK reported RF by region.
According to investigators, at 3 am on May 28 in the village of Kenzhe, a 47-year-old local resident, while intoxicated, broke the window frames of private houses with an ax, damaged the entrance gate, and also inflicted many blows on the hood of a car parked near a neighboring house.
“The police officers who arrived at the call of the neighbors demanded that the man stop his illegal behavior and follow them. In response to the lawful demand of the police, the man, armed with two knives, tried to attack one of the officers. The man was taken to a medical facility, where he received medical care,» the statement said.
On this fact, a criminal case was initiated under the articles «Encroachment on the life of law enforcement officers», «Hooliganism» and «Deliberate damage to another's property» of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the sanctions of which provide for up to life imprisonment .
The regional Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that an official check is being carried out on the use of firearms by the police.
