VLADIVOSTOK, May 29. A resident of Primorye, who suffered a preliminary attack by an Amur tiger, is in a moderate condition, a representative of the regional Ministry of Health said.< br />The day before, the general director of the Amur Tiger Center, Sergey Aramilev, said that several local residents went by truck to look for a dog that disappeared yesterday, found a bloodied bed in the forest, and while the men were turning around in the car, the girl went to watch the bed. As the participants themselves said, they heard a repeated roar, but they still went to inspect the area, soon a tiger jumped out and grabbed the woman. The victim has wounds of the shoulder, forearm and hand. Preliminarily, the behavior of the tiger can be explained by the fact that it was protecting its prey, it is also possible that the animal was injured, the center noted. Okhotnadzor conducts an inspection on the spot.
“The patient was delivered by an ambulance to the Ussuriysk Central City Hospital. She is in a moderate condition, with multiple bite wounds. Doctors are providing all necessary assistance,” the source said.
The Amur tiger is one of the rarest predators on the planet, listed in the International Red Book. In Russia, these cats live on the territory of four subjects: the Primorsky and Khabarovsk Territories, the Amur Region and the Jewish Autonomous Region. According to the results of a complete survey, about 750 Amur tigers, including cubs, live in Russia.
