SAMARA, May 23. A young Chinese scientist Du Chongrui developed at Samara University a software package for the effective control of satellites in the near-lunar space, which will be useful in the future when exploring the Moon to ensure the full operation of the future Lunar space station and the creation on the Moon satellite communication, navigation and monitoring systems, the press service of the university reported.
«For the operation of the (Lunar Space) Station and conducting research missions on the Moon itself, of course, service spacecraft will be required — satellites that will perform the tasks of communication, reconnaissance, monitoring and navigation. The program I have developed will effectively control the movement of such spacecraft in the circumlunar space, calculating the best options for their movement between different orbits.Optimal control selection methods … will reduce the need for additional launches of electric rocket engines to correct the orbit, which means that the fuel reserves on board the spacecraft will be enough for a longer operation of the vehicles and the time of active the satellite system will increase,» Du Chongrui was quoted as saying by the press service.
According to him, with the help of the program it will be possible to more quickly change the working orbits of satellites depending on the emerging tasks, it automatically calculates the parameters of the control law for moving spacecraft, taking into account a lot of data — the mass of the satellite, the trajectory of movement, the type of current and future orbit, gravitational influence Moon and Earth.
According to the press service, an important scientific and practical novelty of the Chongrui project is that the program calculates satellite flights not around the moon, but around it — in the circumlunar space, around the Lagrange points.
«Before, no one has done such programs to calculate the displacements between different orbits around the Lagrange points, this is the main novelty of this project. The fact is that the orbits around the Lagrange points are much more stable, stable and reliable, and to place satellite constellations in circumlunar space, it is better to use them than unstable orbits around the Moon … I even think that in the future we may be expected to compete for the use of orbits around these points as very important, but spatially limited locations in outer space » , — Olga Starinova, head of the Department of Flight Dynamics and Control Systems of Samara University, is quoted by the press service of the scientific director of DU Chunzhui.
It is clarified that Du Chongrui graduated from Samara University and successfully defended his dissertation this year, becoming a candidate of technical sciences, in the future he intends to conduct research and teaching at one of the universities in China.
