A young Chinese scientist Du Chongrui developed at Samara University a software package for the effective control of satellites in the near-lunar space, which will be useful in the future when exploring the Moon to ensure the full operation of the future Lunar space station and the creation on the Moon satellite communication, navigation and monitoring systems, the press service of the university reported.

The program I have developed will effectively control the movement of such spacecraft in the circumlunar space, calculating the best options for their movement between different orbits.Optimal control selection methods … will reduce the need for additional launches of electric rocket engines to correct the orbit, which means that the fuel reserves on board the spacecraft will be enough for a longer operation of the vehicles and the time of active the satellite system will increase,» Du Chongrui was quoted as saying by the press service.

According to him, with the help of the program it will be possible to more quickly change the working orbits of satellites depending on the emerging tasks, it automatically calculates the parameters of the control law for moving spacecraft, taking into account a lot of data — the mass of the satellite, the trajectory of movement, the type of current and future orbit, gravitational influence Moon and Earth.

According to the press service, an important scientific and practical novelty of the Chongrui project is that the program calculates satellite flights not around the moon, but around it — in the circumlunar space, around the Lagrange points.
