Jägermeister filed two lawsuits against the Kaluga «Crystal»

MOSCOW, May 29. The German alcohol producer Mast-Jägermeister SE has filed two lawsuits with the Moscow Arbitration Court against the Kaluga distillery Kristall (KLVZ) , in one of them a claim was made for the recovery of about 315 million rubles in compensation, follows from the published materials of the court.
The lawsuits went to court on May 19. The first of them was presented to Kristall and WineStyle retailer. It stated a property claim (the amount is not specified) and two non-property ones, one of which is a ban (which is not specified).

The defendants in the second lawsuit are «Crystal» and the retailer «Red & White». The claim is for the protection of exclusive rights. It also contains two non-property claims and one property claim for the recovery of compensation in the amount of about 315 million rubles. In more detail, the subject and grounds for the requirements are not given.

Both lawsuits have so far been left without progress due to incomplete payment of the state duty by the plaintiff for going to court. The German company must eliminate procedural violations by June 26.
Jägermeister suspended deliveries to Russia in early November. A little later, Kristall announced that it had begun supplying Alter Heiler and Konig Heiler herbal liqueurs to retail chains, which, in terms of quality, could replace Jägermeister. The company planned to produce about 300-360 thousand decaliters of these drinks by 2023.

In December, KLVZ complained to the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service about Mast-Jägermeister for trying to ban the production of Russian analogues of the famous liquor and limit their sales. As the plant later explained, the German company demanded that wholesalers and retail chains stop selling KLVZ bitters, calling the products counterfeit. It was reported that Kristall was going to bring «the question of the ethics of the German company's actions» to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry with a subsequent appeal to the Russian government in order to remove Jägermeister bitters from the list of parallel imports. In addition, the plant announced the preparation of a lawsuit to the arbitration court.
In April, the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia reported that after a complaint from the Kaluga plant, it issued a warning to the German company, which Jägermeister complied with. In this regard, Mast-Jägermeister was not prosecuted for violating antitrust laws, the department clarified. «https://ria.ru/20230514/alkogol-1871600070.html» data-title='Volodin published a survey on a ban on liquor stores selling alcohol at night'>
