Philosopher Chomsky: China has become a world leader and is replacing the US in the Middle East
China has already taken the position of world leader and shows this by pushing the United States in the Middle East, a popular American thinker said in an interview with RIA Novosti Noam Chomsky.
As noted, when asked if China would become a world leader, the philosopher replied: “He already is.”
As an example of China's growing influence in the world, Chomsky cited joining Shanghai Cooperation Organization of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in the format of partners. According to him, they have already become the hub of the Chinese sea «silk road», laid from Calcutta in the eastern part of India through the Red Sea to Europe. As the thinker clarified, China is currently entering the Middle East arms market.
These factors indicate a «significant erosion» of the Middle East system, which for the past 80 years has been ruled by the United States, replacing the UK. Chomsky added that similar processes are taking place in other regions.
