«It is necessary to monitor prices at gas stations and in the wholesale segment, taking into account the summer growth in demand and the season of refinery repairs. Oil companies continue to work actively with the headquarters for monitoring the production and consumption of petroleum products under the Ministry of Energy,» Novak's words are quoted in the release. It is noted that the Deputy Prime Minister «instructed manufacturers to ensure uniform and regular sales of gasoline and diesel fuel on the exchange market to cover the needs of the domestic market, including independent gas stations.»
The government also adds that the participants during the meeting, they noted the stable supply of petroleum products to the domestic market since the beginning of the year and sufficient fuel reserves during the spring repairs of oil refineries.
The price of AI-95 gasoline at the St. Petersburg International Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange (SPIMEX) in mid-May accelerated its growth rates, updating its historical record several times.
The Ministry of Energy of Russia, commenting on the growing stock prices for gasoline, said earlier that this dynamics will not significantly affect the cost of gasoline in retail — sufficient fuel reserves were created on the eve of the repair season at the refinery, amounting to 1.9 million tons. At the same time, the Ministry of Energy recommended that oil companies increase the supply of gasoline on the exchange, especially the AI-95 brand.
