Gundarov spoke about the purpose of the sunken landing ship of the Ukrainian Navy

Considering that the “independent” fleet is already too loud a name for the iron that Kiev has left, the death of actually the last landing ship is a big loss for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
What kind of ship is this, how could it be used and why its destruction can be considered a great success for us, «MK» was told by a military expert, captain 1st rank in the reserve Vladimir Gundarov .
Let me remind you that recently, the adviser to the head of the military administration of the Odessa region, Sergei Bratchuk, complained that Russian troops launched a volley of eight Caliber cruise missiles in the Odessa region.
One of the targets was the Odessa port, the infrastructure of which is used as part of grain deal”, that is, for the transshipment of Ukrainian grain for bulk carriers. That is why they hit with high-precision missiles, practically jewelry, at those warehouses of the port, where there were ammunition and military equipment delivered to Ukraine by sea.
It is difficult to say whether the landing ship «Yuri Olefirenko» was the direct target of these strikes. According to the channel of the reporter Rudenko, this ship went to the bottom due to detonated shells that were in its hold. There was a fire and the ship sank. At the same time, the crew suffered significant losses.
— The ship «Yuriy Olefirenko» of the Ukrainian Navy, — explains Volodymyr Gundarov, — is a former Soviet medium landing ship of the Black Sea Fleet — SDK-137, built in the 70s of the last century at the shipyards of Gdansk in Poland. In April 1994, under the agreement on the division of the Black Sea Fleet, it went to Ukraine, where it received the name U401 Kirovograd, then it was renamed Yuri Olefirenko.
— Yes, in 2010 During the Interaction-2010 exercises, an incident with the detonation of ammunition has already occurred on this ship. Then there was also a fire. Several sailors were killed. But the Ukrainian sailors managed to save the ship itself. This time the ship was completely unlucky.
For us, this is a great success. According to some information and indirect data, the former «Kirovograd» could be adapted for the transportation of autonomous unmanned surface boats of a semi-submerged type. Simply put, the same sea drones that threatened our ships in the Black Sea, including in Sevastopol.
The last case was on May 24, when in neutral waters, 140 kilometers northeast of the Bosphorus, three unmanned boats — each with up to a hundred kilograms of explosives — attacked our ship «Ivan Khurs», which was engaged in reconnaissance and protection of the Turkish Stream and Blue Stream gas pipelines.
— Exactly it is known that sea unmanned boats were delivered to the line of attack by the mother ship. «Yuri Olefirenko» is quite suitable for this. It is adapted for the release of amphibious tanks and amphibious armored personnel carriers into the sea from the hold. Why not launch boats instead?
Apparently, it was used for this. If the attacks of maritime drones, even if for a while, stop, this will serve as proof of the correct choice of target for the Russian missile.
