The trial of Promes may affect the reputation of Spartak, said Mostovoy

MOSCOW, May 31, Svetlana Bonopartova. Trial of a football player Moscow «Spartak» Quincy Promes may affect the reputation of the club, said the former midfielder «red-white» Alexander Mostovoy.
Earlier, the nu.nl portal reported that the Dutch prosecutor's office charged Promes with involvement in the smuggling of two consignments of cocaine with a total weight of 1370 kg.
“I heard about these accusations, we also heard the story of an armed attack. He is already under investigation in the Netherlands. Of course, this affects the reputation of Spartak. People know, they read about this situation. All this is sad”, Mostovoy said.
Due to criminal cases in the Netherlands, Promes was forced to miss part of the team's winter training camp and study under an individual program in Moscow.
“Back then, physically and tactically, he didn’t lose anything. He trained, but didn’t watch TV. Of course, the current situation is not easy. And it’s not easy for him. I still feel drawn to my homeland,» the agency's interlocutor added.

Mostovoy noted that it would be difficult for Spartak to compensate for the possible loss of Promes.
““When you lose one of the team leaders, especially a scorer, it doesn’t go away without a trace. You need to replace someone, find someone similar, and in the current situation it’s hard to do. But I think that his task is to remain in Spartak as long as possible,» Mostovoy concluded.
Promes is 31 years old. He returned to Spartak in February 2021. Before that, he played for the Red-Whites from 2014 to 2018. As part of the Moscow team, Promes became the champion of Russia, the owner of the Cup and the Super Cup of the country. This season, the striker is second in the list of scorers in the Russian Premier League with 20 goals.
