WASHINGTON May 30 US to announce new sanctions Wednesday against Russia related to alleged «drone shipments» and «Russian disinformation,» Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said.
«Tomorrow we will announce new measures that tighten export controls on technology found in Iranian drones used in raids on Ukrainian civilians and civilian infrastructure, as well as counteracting Russian … disinformation, supporting human rights activists,» Blinken said at a press conference during a visit to Sweden.
The Russian Federation has repeatedly said that the country will cope with the sanctions pressure, which The West began to exert pressure on Russia several years ago and continues to strengthen it. Moscow noted that the West lacks the courage to acknowledge the failure of sanctions against the Russian Federation. Western countries themselves have repeatedly voiced opinions that anti-Russian sanctions are ineffective.
Western countries claim that Iran is allegedly currently supplying drones to Russia for military operations in Ukraine. Moscow and Tehran have repeatedly denied such accusations. Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian stated that Tehran supplied the Russian Federation with drones, but a few months before the start of a special operation in Ukraine.
