The Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg fined the local branch of «Memorial» 300 thousand rubles under the article on «discrediting» the army (Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). This was reported by Kommersant with reference to the head of the organization Alexei Mosin.
The reason for the protocol was the publication on the website of the Ural society «Memorial», to which the Yekaterinburg branch, as Mosin noted, «has nothing to do.» According to him, he does not have access to the site of the Ural colleagues. These are anti-war texts published on February 26, 2022 and February 24, 2023.
“I do not have access to this site, and I did not post anything there. But the court did not listen to us — the decision was made in a minute, and none of our petitions were considered,» Mosin said.
As the press service of the court told Mediazona, only one protocol was considered today . Another administrative case under the article on «discrediting» the army was brought against Mosin himself. The meeting on it is scheduled for June 19.
Early on the morning of April 27, the security forces came to Mosin's home and took him to the Yeltsin Center warehouse, where the library and documents of the Yekaterinburg «Memorial» are stored. After that, he was taken to the department for the execution of administrative legislation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city. There, the security forces drew up two protocols under Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.
