MOSCOW, June 1 Five people were injured during the shelling of Shebekino by Ukrainian troops, Governor of the Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov said on his Telegram channel.

According to the governor, among the injured are a policeman who received an open fracture of the humerus, and two women with shrapnel wounds. Another victim was a bridge guard.

Three people were hospitalized, one woman was treated on the spot, Gladkov specified. In addition, information was received about a man with multiple shrapnel wounds, who is unconscious. The ambulance team is taking him to the hospital.

Two wounded were reported earlier — the condition of one man is assessed as serious, his arm was amputated. The second turned to the doctors on his own, he is in a state of moderate severity.

The head of the region also spoke about the damage caused by the shelling. One private house caught fire after a direct hit. Residents report damage to windows and balconies; in some houses, shells have pierced the walls. In one administrative building the roof is on fire, fire brigades are working there. In another, fragments cut through the facade and smashed the windows.
The governor noted that the door-to-door bypass of the territory will begin in the near future.
“Now a fake is spreading on the network — information about collection points for the urgent evacuation of residents of the Shebekinsky District. At the moment, it is impossible and unsafe to massively gather people at a particular point,” he warned.
Shebekino is located about four kilometers from the border with Ukraine, about 40 thousand people live there. The city is constantly under attack from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in recent days massive shelling has been carried out almost continuously. According to the local administration, 37 multi-apartment and 29 private houses, over 70 cars were damaged in the city yesterday alone.
