MOSCOW, May 30. A man with a knife broke into the house of Benedict Cumberbatch in London, writes the Daily Mail.
The assailant is 35-year-old former chef of a five-star hotel, Jack Bissell. He made his way through the iron gate, ripped off the intercom and yelled several threats.
«I know you moved here, I hope it (the house) burns to the ground,» Bissell is quoted as saying in the publication.
At this point, Cumberbatch, his wife Sophie Hunter and their three children were in the house and heard everything.
Bissell fled the scene. He was detained — the police found his DNA on the intercom. It is unclear why he attacked the celebrity's home.
The article pointed out: Bissell pleaded guilty to criminal mischief in Wood Green Crown Court, received a £250 fine and a three-year ban from approaching the Cumberbatch family and the area in which they live.
The details of the case only came to light after the Daily Mail challenged the publication restrictions.
