MOSCOW, May 2. The Federation Council Committee on Agrarian Policy and Environmental Management recommends that the Russian government take measures to limit the import of veterinary drugs from unfriendly countries in the presence of domestic analogues, according to the recommendations of the committee following the results of parliamentary hearings on the topic of veterinary medicine (available).
«Recommend to the Government of the Russian Federation to consider the possibility of taking measures to restrict imports of medicinal products for veterinary use of foreign production, if there are sufficient volumes of domestic production of their analogues, by expanding the list of goods approved by the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation … «On the approval of import customs duty rates for certain goods whose country of origin are states and territories that take measures that violate the economic interests of the Russian Federation,» the document says.
The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation is recommended to consider the possibility of developing state support measures for the purchase of domestic veterinary drugs, including with the help of soft loans for the purchase of only Russian-made veterinary drugs.
«The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, together with the Russian Academy of Sciences, to take measures, including state support measures, aimed at developing new biological preparations for veterinary use, first of all, vaccines against especially dangerous animal diseases (ASF, bird flu, etc.),» the authors of the document note.
