MOSCOW, May 31. The Russian Ministry of Culture has excluded some well-known directors from the composition of expert councils for feature, documentary and animated films, Vedomosti reports with with reference to the order of the department.
According to the publication, directors Alexei Uchitel, Alexei Fedorchenko, Vladimir Khotinenko, the general director of Channel One Konstantin Ernst and others were excluded from the experts.
However, the newspaper noted, they were replaced by members of the Ministry of Culture itself, as well as representatives of the church. Among them are the rector of the Moscow church of St. Nicholas of Myra on the Three Mountains, Dmitry Roshchin, and Vice-Rector of the Orthodox St. Tikhon Humanitarian University Philip Ilyashenko. The council also included Duma deputy Dmitry Pevtsov and Alexei Pimanov, host of the TV program Man and Law.
Earlier, the Ministry of Culture identified priority topics for film production for 2023. The department noted the importance of preserving, creating and disseminating traditional values in cinematography, focused on popularizing service in the Armed Forces, and considered it important to highlight the topic of innovation and technology.
