Opening Georgian Georgian Airways airline flights to Europe for the Russians upset the Polish portal Onet, according to RIA Novosti.
The decision of the Georgian airline is also called “incomprehensible” and “bad step”. The author of an article in Onet notes that Russians now have new opportunities to travel around Europe through Georgia.
Earlier, the founder of Georgian Airways, Tamaz Gaiashvili, said that from June 15, Russians will be able to fly from Moscow to Milan, Paris, Vienna and other European cities with a change in Tbilisi. Subsequently, the list of flights to the EU was expanded.
On May 10, Russian President Vladimir Putin by his decree abolished the visa regime with Georgia and lifted the ban for Russian airlines on direct flights to the republic. Since May 19, direct flights have been opened between the Russian Federation and Georgia after a four-year break.
