MAKHACHKALA, June 2 . The Derbent District Court of Dagestan has arrested a local resident suspected of murdering the head of the village of Rubas, the press service of the investigative department of the ICR for the region reported.
The head of the village of Rubas in the Derbent region of Dagestan, 61-year-old Gadzhikurban Bairambegov, was shot dead on May 31 near his home. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan reported that the suspect in the murder, a 58-year-old local resident, surrendered to the police and confessed to his deed. The man explained that the motive for the crime was a long conflict with the head of the village over real estate.
«At the request of the investigator … in relation to the suspect in the murder of the head of the village of Rubas, the Derbent District Court chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention,» the report says.
According to the investigation, on May 31, at about 12.00 Moscow time, a suspect on the Kavkaz highway during a quarrel with the head of the village of Rubas shot him from a firearm he had with him. The victim was fatally wounded in the chest area.
