Express: in the UK they were afraid that Russia would «turn off» the country by cutting submarine cables
The Russian Federation, according to expert Mark Sidwell, is able to «turn off» Britain simply by cutting submarine cables and pipelines connecting the island to the rest of the world. The specialist shared this hypothetical prospect with Express.
“Our country remains particularly vulnerable to covert attacks on submarine cables and pipelines,” he believes. “It is especially dangerous if gas supplies are interrupted during the winter,” Sidwell said.
London, according to the observer, must remain vigilant, as any blow to the critical infrastructure of the United Kingdom will have serious consequences.

Meanwhile, Moscow has repeatedly stated that there are no aggressive intentions towards any states.
