MOSCOW, May 30th. Russian engineers presented three new airfield machines with attachments. According to scientists, the new equipment will be responsible for high-speed cleaning of artificial surfaces of airfields and airports, blowing and cleaning the runway. Domestic development will cost 20-25% cheaper than foreign analogues, the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science reported.
The condition of the runways (RWY) significantly affects the level of air travel safety and is strictly regulated. Therefore, it is important that the maintenance and cleaning of the territory of airports be carried out efficiently and constantly, the developers explained. /ria.ru/20230210/samolet-1851002616.html» data->
Special equipment that maintains the runway in the right condition requires maintenance and repair. Under the sanctions, the usual supply chains have been disrupted, and new delivery mechanisms are only being worked out. Therefore, it is critically important for aviation to solve the problem of import substitution, scientists said.
Engineers of the Moscow Automobile and Road Technical University (MADI) and South Ural State University (SUGU) have developed a line of equipment for servicing airfields by order of the Spetsagregat plant: a sweeper, blower, watering and plow-brush machine with the distribution of solid reagent.
Equipment consists of 90% of domestic components, experts noted. According to them, a small number of imported components, difficult to manufacture, are present in the hydraulic system and in the control system. Nevertheless, scientists believe that in the future a complete transition to import-independent production is quite possible.

The scientists also decided to combine the chassis for watering and plow-brush machines, because they have similar design solutions and have the same elements.
«»This significantly reduces the cost of the kit: you can buy one chassis and two sets of attachments for it. The third machine — sweeper and blower — has an additional power plant and a larger set of attachments that could not be placed on the base chassis for the first two types of special equipment», — said the project manager, deputy director of the MADI Center for Automotive and Road Engineering Dmitry Nikitin.
The developers expressed the hope that after the completion of acceptance tests, their cars will appear not only on civil and military airfields in Russia, but also in neighboring countries.
As Nikitin noted, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have already shown interest in the products.
The scientific project was carried out as part of the national project «Science and Universities», implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia (218- This is a decree of the government of the Russian Federation, which regulates the provision of state subsidies to projects aimed at developing cooperation between scientific institutions and enterprises in the real sector of the economy to create high-tech industries).
