The court reinstated the last metro employee fired after the publication of the base of Navalny's supporters

The Nagatinsky District Court of Moscow has reinstated Maxim Yakovlev, the last of 37 employees of the Moscow metro who were sued for dismissal after the base of Alexei Navalny's supporters was drained in 2021. The Agency paid attention to the publication of the Confederation of Labor.

The decision was made on May 31 this year. Yakovlev lost his job on May 21 two years ago. In this regard, the State Unitary Enterprise «Moscow Metro» was ordered to pay him more than 2.7 million rubles during the «forced absenteeism.» As the Agency journalists noted, the first employees who were restored to work received from 140 to 300 thousand rubles.

Chairman of the Territorial Trade Union of Moscow Metro Workers Nikolai Gostev said that in May 2021 more than 40 metro employees asked for help . According to the workers, they were offered to resign by agreement of the parties or threatened with dismissal for absenteeism, which was not. As a result, 42 lawsuits were filed with the courts.

The courts did not immediately satisfy all the claims. These cases were reviewed in favor of the workers in the Moscow Regional Court. The Moscow City Court rejected eight appeals, so another part of the cases was sent to the Second Cassation Court of General Jurisdiction, which overturned the decision of the court of the previous instance.

Gostev added: “Thus, out of 42 workers who applied with our support to the court 37 people were restored. Only those employees who, having lost in the first instance, did not want to fight further, did not achieve restoration.

In April 2021, unknown people published a database of email addresses of supporters of the politician Alexei Navalny who registered on the website in support of the oppositionist. FBK accused former employee Fyodor Gorozhanko of publishing the data, he denies the accusations.

After that, the Moscow metro began massively laying off employees who fell into the merged base. «Russian Service "BBC"» also reported on at least a hundred police officers fired due to support for Navalny since December 2021.
