MOSCOW, 5 Jun. Fyodor Bondarchuk has previously confirmed his participation in the film adaptation of Sergei Lukyanenko's book «Knights of the Forty Islands», the press service of the project reports.
A TV series based on the novel will be filmed. Lukyanenko will write a script for it and act as a creative producer.
Andrey Marmontov («Anna Detective», «Insomnia», «Bezsonov», «The Eighties») was appointed director.
The book «Knights of the Forty Islands» was released in 1992. In 2010, her translation into German received one of Germany's largest science fiction awards, the Deutscher Phantastik Preis. The work tells about earthly teenagers who find themselves in a different reality.
The premiere of the series «Knights of the Forty Islands» was scheduled for the fall of 2025.
It was previously reported that a new film with Ben Affleck will be released in Russian box office in July.
