Poland deported to Russia an ex-FSB officer who told Gulagu.net about the fabrication of cases of terrorist attacks in Dagestan

Poland deported ex-employee of the Dagestan FSB Emran Navruzbekov, who asked for political asylum in the country. This was reported to Sota by lawyer Karinna Moskalenko. Navruzbekov himself confirmed this information to Vot Tak.

According to Moskalenko, Navruzbekov, who last year told the human rights project Gulagu.net how criminal cases are fabricated in Dagestan under terrorist articles, was deported to Russia under the pretext that he poses a «threat to Poland's security».

Navruzbekov's wife Irina was given political asylum, Moskalenko noted. The lawyer added that the Polish authorities «ignored the emergency complaint filed today with the ECHR, which should be considered within 24 hours.»

After Navruzbekov was handed over to the Russian side, communication with him was lost, Irina told Vot Tak. “I received the documents yesterday. But what am I going to do here without my husband? Gave protection. Why do I need this protection? They left me with nothing. How will I feed the children? I don’t know what will happen to my husband, I already heard screams there when I spoke to him. They will finish him off now,” Navruzbekov’s wife said.

The Navruzbekovs left for Poland in 2017, but then the application of the ex-FSB officer for political asylum was rejected. The family has since appealed the decision. In October 2022, Navruzbekov filed a second application, his wife told the Agency, and since that time he has been in a refugee camp in the Kuyavian-Pomorsky Voivodeship.

According to the publication, Navruzbekov was detained on May 17 during an identity check in the camp and arrested because of a possible violation of the rules of conduct. On the same day, the court banned Navruzbekov from entering Poland and other Schengen countries, after which he was placed in a center for foreigners in Przemysl.

In a December interview with the founder of the Gulagu.net project, Vladimir Osechkin, Emran Navruzbekov stated that “ people connected with the special services” are organizing “controlled terrorist attacks” in the region and that FSB and MVD operatives are planting drugs and weapons on people.

In an interview with Kavkaz.Realiyam, Navruzbekov said that in 2017 the authorities wanted to send him to Turkey «to collect information and counter opposition activists who emigrated there and wanted natives of Dagestan, Chechnya and other republics,» but he did not want to do this and left through Belarus to Poland. Navruzbekov also said that pressure was exerted on his relatives in Dagestan.
