MOSCOW, June 7 Domestic enterprises were able to replace the import of electronic control units, harness products, connectors for them and partially sensors necessary for the automotive industry in Russia, said Vasily Shpak, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade .

“Now we have managed to replace electronic control units (they occupy the main part of the electronic architecture in a car), partially replaced sensors, connectors for harness products, harness products,” he said, commenting on the topic of localizing the production of electronic auto components in the country .
At the same time, Shpak recalled that major foreign manufacturers of electronic control units for the automotive industry, including Valeo, Bosch and Continental, stopped deliveries to Russia, violating all contractual obligations.
«In March 2022, together with automakers and manufacturers of radio electronics, it was decided to switch to sanctions-resistant electronic control units and unify basic radio-electronic components with the subsequent use of Russian components … Thus, these decisions managed to avoid stopping conveyors,» he specified.
The Deputy Minister also added that, in particular, Avtokom, Avtoelectronics and Avtopribor companies are engaged in the production and supply of electronics for the automotive industry.
