MOSCOW, June 7 Six organizers of the Vesna* movement were searched in four Russian cities, a law enforcement source said on Wednesday.
«Searchs were carried out in Barnaul, Novosibirsk, Tver and St. Petersburg,» — said the agency's interlocutor.
According to him, criminal cases have been initiated under articles on the public dissemination of knowingly false information about the use of the RF Armed Forces, public calls for «activities against security state», organizations of the extremist community and the rehabilitation of Nazism.
«Six people are walking through them — five men and a girl. All of them were taken to the main investigative department of the RF Investigative Committee yesterday,» the source said.
In October, the Ministry of Justice entered the Vesna* movement into the register of unregistered NGOs acting as a foreign agent, Rosfinmonitoring added the organization to the list of terrorists and extremists, which closes the possibility of legal transactions for it.
In December, the City Court of St. Petersburg, at the suit of the prosecutor's office, recognized «Vesna»* as an extremist organization and banned it in Russia. According to the oversight agency, the work of the movement «is aimed at undermining public security and the foundations of the constitutional order», for which various political technologies are used, including mass illegal actions with «the use of violence against law enforcement officials.»
