MOSCOW, June 7 Remote electronic voting may take place this year in 24 regions, said Ella Pamfilova, head of the CEC.
““31 applications were received from the election commissions of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation <…> But seven of our regions, after a thorough study, comparing pluses and minuses, withdrew their applications. Now the Central Election Commission is considering 24 applications,» she specified.
Thus, remote electronic voting is proposed to be used in the elections of governors in the Altai Territory, Voronezh, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk and Pskov regions; in the additional elections of State Duma deputies in the Crimea and Lipetsk region, in local elections in Chuvashia and Tomsk region, as well as in the election of a deputy of the Orenburg city council. Chelyabinsk regions, the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, in the Perm and Kamchatka Territories, as well as in Karelia.
The single voting day in 2023 in Russia is scheduled for September 10.
