The Lefortovsky District Court of Moscow sent a foreigner A.Yu. Matyukhin, who is suspected of espionage, to a pre-trial detention center (Article 276 of the Criminal Code). Mediazona drew attention to the case card on the court's website.
No other details about the Matyukhin case are known, law enforcement agencies did not report his detention.
At the end of May, a court in Tula sentenced Ukrainian citizen Andrei Petkevich to 16 years in a strict regime colony on charges of espionage (Article 276 of the Criminal Code). According to the FSB, the Ukrainian, on instructions from the secret services, was looking for employees of Russian defense enterprises from among the secret carriers in order to recruit them and obtain “information about promising developments in the field of small arms.”
On May 5, the Lefortovo District Court of Moscow arrested the Crimean Tatar Lenia Umerov in the case of espionage.
