MOSCOW, June 7 The Federal Agency for Fishery and Rosselkhoznadzor are completing work on creating a system for automatically checking the legality of crabs offered in restaurants, said the head of the Federal Agency for Fishery, Ilya Shestakov.
“Rosselkhoznadzor together with the Federal Agency for Fishery have made an automatic verification database; I think that in two months we will be able to present it to you. Then we will automatically be able to understand which products, in which facility, are sold illegally,” Shestakov told the press -conferences in the international multimedia press center of the Russia Today media group.
An inspection of crab products supplied to Moscow restaurants and hotels, which the department, together with the Rosselkhoznadzor, conducted at the end of last year, showed that only 3% of such products are absolutely legal. It was carried out on the basis of databases of information systems on catch, which the Federal Agency for Fishery has, and databases of the Rosselkhoznadzor on electronic veterinary certificates.
“We carried it out practically by hand just to see how serious problems really exist with the legality of the origin of products sold in HoReCa (public catering and hotel business — ed.),” said the head of the Federal Agency for Fishery. Having identified the problem of illegal products, the departments set about creating an automatic verification system. 20230415/ikra-1865558583.html» data-title=»Rosrybolovstvo called the benefits of labeling caviar for the market»>
