Deputy Chepa: Vučić's statement about readiness to cooperate with the US is political
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić's statement of readiness to cooperate with the US military is political and will not lead to real action. So says Alexei Chepa, Deputy Head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs. He stated this in an interview with Lenta.ru.
According to him, in the current situation in the Balkan country it is unprofitable to have a pro-Russian position.
“Unfortunately, a pro-Russian position will cause significant internal destabilization in the country,” Chepa believes.
He recalled that today many Serbs do not accept some of the statements of their president, not only on Kosovo, but also on other issues.
Cepa also suggested that it is unlikely that after such a statement by Vucic, Washington will send its troops into Serbia.
