The defendant in the case of the action «Happy ChKist Day», activist of the «Left Blog» Lev Skoryakin was detained in Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by human rights activist Yevgenia Shamina.
As Shamina Skoryakin said, the detention took place early in the morning in Bishkek. After that, the activist was taken to the building of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan. In February, a court in Moscow arrested a young man in absentia, and in April he was put on the wanted list.
In December 2021, a criminal case was opened against Skoryakin and another activist, Ruslan Abasov, for hooliganism (Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code) due to an action against political repression and lawlessness of the security forces, which took place in Moscow on December 20 2021.
On that day, activists unfurled a banner «Happy Chekist Day» and lit flares near the FSB building. Abasov, in addition to the article on hooliganism, is also charged with vandalism (Part 1 of Article 214 of the Criminal Code) — in January, the activist was put on the wanted list.
Shortly after the action near the FSB building, Abasov and Skoryakin were detained. Initially, they were placed in a pre-trial detention center, but later the preventive measure was changed to a ban on certain actions. Now the proceedings on their cases have been divided.
