NIZHNY NOVGOROD, June 9 The head of the Zvezdny children's health camp in Chuvashia was sentenced to 2 years probation for a mining farm illegally equipped on its territory, according to the regional investigation management of the RF IC.
It has been established that in November 2021, the defendant gave his acquaintance the opportunity to install mining equipment in the canteen of the children's camp, instructing the subordinate to disconnect it from commercial electricity metering devices. As a result, from December 2021 to April 2022, the farm “burned” electricity worth more than 2.8 million rubles without meters before being exposed by the police and the FSB.
A criminal case was initiated under article 165 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing property damage by deceit). At the request of the investigator, the court arrested equipment worth more than 2.9 million rubles.
«According to the verdict of the court, the convict was sentenced to two years of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of 2 years and a fine of 50,000 rubles,» the report says.
The Prosecutor's Office of Chuvashia informs that it has filed a lawsuit to recover from the convict the entire amount of damage caused by the crime.
