
KHABAROVSK, June 9 The Pacific Iron and Steel Works will be launched in the Khabarovsk Territory, its capacity will be three times the volume of the Azovstal metallurgical plant in Mariupol, Governor Mikhail Degtyarev said.
The head of the region in Moscow took part in a meeting of the Council of the Far Eastern Federal District under the leadership of Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation — Plenipotentiary Envoy of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev. The main issues on the agenda were: support for a special military operation, increasing the investment climate, creating social infrastructure for national projects and the presidential Far East «Single subsidy», as well as preparing for the Eastern Economic Forum-2023.
«This year we are launching a new project — the Pacific Metallurgical Plant. Its capacity will be three times the volume of the legendary Azovstal» , — Degtyarev wrote in his telegram channel after the event.
The Governor noted that according to the results of last year, Khabarovsk Territory was in positive territory in terms of investment and industrial production.
«For example, if in 2021 there were eight residents of the TOP, then in 2022 there will be 21. In just five months of this year, nine new residents were added to them. all-terrain vehicles «Erofey» for the needs of the Northern Military District, cartridges and cores for bullets. In the first five months of the year, the volume of investments in the real sector of the economy increased by 1.5 times compared to the same period last year,» the head of the region said.
Degtyarev drew attention to the fact that last year was a record year for the region: the implementation of large-scale projects of Russian Railways, the construction of the Pacific Railway and the new port of Elga began. This also includes the Malmyzhsky GOK of the Russian Copper Company — it is planned to be launched in March 2024. Also, the second stage of the largest mining and processing plant in the city of Amursk.
As the government of the region clarifies, it was noted at the council that the Far East remains the leader in attracting investments per capita. The volume of actual financial investments in the Far Eastern Federal District in projects with state support amounted to 3.2 trillion rubles. 636 projects were put into operation, 118 thousand jobs were created.
