MOSCOW, June 10Rescuers will deliver mobile complexes of special treatment to eliminate the consequences of the explosion of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station in the flooded areas of the Kherson region, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
“The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia sent mobile complexes for special processing to the Kherson region. The rescue operation, comprehensive assistance to the population, and work to eliminate the consequences of emergencies in flooded areas continues,” the source said.
As specified in the press service, specialists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations provide targeted assistance to the population, are engaged in the evacuation of pets left in the flood zone. People who refuse to leave their homes are supplied with water and food.
It is noted that the rescuers are also conducting comprehensive anti-epidemic work. The department sent to the Kherson region mobile complexes and stations designed for special sanitization of the terrain and equipment, as well as vehicles with sanitary products.
In addition, mobile complexes for information and warning will be delivered there.
On the night of June 6, shelling by Ukrainian troops led to the destruction of the upper part of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. The blow, presumably, was delivered from the Alder MLRS. The unregulated discharge of water began. According to preliminary data, five people died. More than 5.8 thousand people were evacuated from the flood zone.
As Vladimir Putin emphasized, the destruction of the station led to a large-scale environmental and humanitarian catastrophe.
