VORONEZH, June 8 Deputies of the Voronezh Regional Duma approved on September 10 the date of the election of the governor of the region, the legislature said in a statement.
Elections of the governor of the Voronezh region are called by a resolution of the Voronezh regional Duma in accordance with the provisions of the federal law «On basic guarantees of electoral rights and the right to participate in a referendum of citizens of the Russian Federation», the charter of the Voronezh region and the electoral code of the region.
On June 8, at the 32nd meeting of the regional parliament, the deputies unanimously decided to set the date for the election of the governor of the Voronezh region on a single voting day — September 10th. The resolution on the appointment of the election of the Governor of the Voronezh Region for September 10, 2023 was signed by the Chairman of the Voronezh Regional Duma Vladimir Netesov.
“Today, more than ever, the consolidation of society is important. Only together we can decide how the region will develop over the next five years. The stability of internal social, political and economic processes, the relationship with the federal center depend on the experience, activity and responsibility of the future head of the region , other constituent entities of the Russian Federation. I am sure that the people of Voronezh will exercise their constitutional right and make an informed decision by casting their vote for a candidate who they really trust,» Netesov said.
He also noted that in the Voronezh region, for the first time in the elections of the head of the region, voters will be able to vote both in person at polling stations and online, using a remote electronic voting system. This decision was recently approved by the Central Election Commission.
