SOCHI, June 10 AvtoVAZ plans to present the new Lada Granta in the summer of 2024, preparations for the production of new items are proceeding in accordance with the schedule, said company president Maxim Sokolov.
«Based on the usual practice — such a marketing campaign, as a rule, will begin in the middle of next summer. First presentation. Maybe even a little earlier,» he said, answering a question about the presentation of new items.
Sokolov also noted that we are talking about a whole new family of cars, which will receive its name. Which one — the top manager did not disclose.
«Our project is moving in full accordance with the schedule approved back in August last year by the Board of Directors… I literally flew in from Togliatti: I walked through the shops that already specialize in the production of the new Granta — Granta 2. For example, The readiness of the welding shop is already about 90%, that is, the equipment has been installed,» he added.
As previously noted in the company, the production of the new Lada Granta is scheduled to begin at the end of 2024.
AvtoVAZ owns production sites in Tolyatti, Izhevsk and St. Petersburg. In mid-May last year, the French Renault transferred its stake in AvtoVAZ (67.69%) to the state property of the Russian Federation. Now the brand consists of four families of models: Vesta, Largus, Granta and Niva. Sales of brand vehicles in 2022 amounted to 188.6 thousand vehicles (-46% compared to 2021).
