Trudeau: Canada to confiscate Russian An-124 cargo plane for transfer to Ukraine
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, during his visit to Kiev on Saturday, announced that the Canadian government will transfer the Russian transport aircraft AN- 124. The board of the Russian company "Volga-Dnepr" was detained at the Toronto airport in early 2022. For more than a year of parking, the plane owes the airport hundreds of thousands of dollars.
«Thanks to the legislation that we have passed, we will confiscate this plane,» Trudeau said.
He added that a process has been initiated transfer of the liner to the ownership of Ukraine.

The Canadian Prime Minister also announced that Ottawa had allocated a new military aid package for Kiev for the total amount $ 373 million. He said that, in addition, Canada will take part in a multilateral training program for Ukrainian military pilots.
During a meeting with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, Trudeau announced new sanctions against Russia — 24 individuals will be subject to restrictive measures and 17 legal entities.
This visit to Ukraine is the second for Trudeau since the beginning of the Russian special operation. The last time he visited the country was in May 2022.
