Crimean Tatar sentenced to 19 years in a strict regime colony is not allowed out of ShIZO for a month

Crimean Tatar Marlen Asanov, sentenced to 19 years in a strict regime colony in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case, has not been released from the punishment cell for a month now. It is reported by «Crimean solidarity».

Asanov is in the Mordovian IK-7. Recently he was visited by a lawyer who said that the leadership of the colony has no claims against the prisoner. The formal reason for sending him to the ShIZO was that he allegedly swore. In the explanation, Asanov wrote that he considers this to be slander.

“When he was sent to a punishment cell, he asked what complaints he had, and he was told that Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, under which he is sitting, is enough to send him to a punishment cell,” Dilyara Asanov, mother of the Crimean Tatar, retells the words of the lawyer.

Crimean Solidarity also writes that the man's arthritis worsened in the colony, he often suffers from pain in his knees. At the same time, the relatives of the Crimean Tatar cannot give him the necessary medicines.

In 2014, Asanov joined the Crimean Solidarity and attended the trials of his compatriots. On October 11, 2017, a man was detained in Bakhchisarai and a day later he was imprisoned in a pre-trial detention center. In September 2020, a Crimean Tatar was sentenced to 19 years in a strict regime colony on cases of organizationsactivities of a terrorist cell and preparing for a violent takeover.
