MOSCOW, June 9 Scientists working in the field of reproductive medicine, methods of non-traumatic oncological surgery and nuclear physics became laureates of the State Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology.
The names of the laureates, approved by the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, were announced at a press conference on Friday by the assistant to the head of state, Andrey Fursenko.
Gennady Sukhikh, Levon Ashrafyan and Dmitry Trofimov, employees of the National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology named after academician V.I. Kulakov of the Russian Ministry of Health, became the laureates of the state award. The prize was awarded to them for a series of fundamental and applied works on the development and implementation in the practice of perinatology, oncology and reproductive medicine of personalized methods of diagnostics, prevention and therapy. , Igor Khatkov and Aleksey Shabunin for the introduction of a minimally invasive method of treating certain oncological diseases.
The employees of the National Research Center «Kurchatov Institute» Mikhail Skorokhvatov and Vladimir Kopeikin were also awarded the prize for a series of fundamental and applied scientific works that made an outstanding contribution to the development of domestic research on reactor antineutrinos and created the scientific and technical base for their practical application in the nuclear industry, including for ensuring the nonproliferation regime.
