China's share of new car imports to Russia exceeded 75%, according to the Telegram channel of the Russian-Asian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
With reference to the data of the analytical agency Avtostat, it is noted that Chinese automakers continue to fill the Russian market with enthusiasm, which has become empty after the departure of Western , Japanese And South Korean. The share of cars from China in Russia's imports in May amounted to 75.2%. In total, 51,193 cars were imported into our country this month.
During the same period, official deliveries from South Korea decreased to 0.9% of the total market, from Japan to 0.5%, and European and American brands together did not gain even 1.9%. On the other hand, the Japanese succeeded in deliveries of used cars, crushing more than half of the deliveries.
Chinese cars accounted for 46% of new car sales in Russia in May (in April 2023 — 44%, in May 2022 — 17%). At the same time, sales of new Toyota and Lexus cars, as well as Mitsibishi, grew, most likely due to parallel imports.
In February, the Association of Chinese Automobile Manufacturers in Russia was established.
