Chisinau, June 12 the alleged falsification of a medical certificate against the ex-president of the republic, executive secretary of the opposition Socialist Party Igor Dodon has been postponed.
Earlier, supporters and representatives of the opposition Party of Socialists in Moldova (PSRM) picketed the building of the Chisinau district court in support of ex-president Dodon. The rally was peaceful, the picketers held posters in support of the ex-president and chanted anti-government slogans. The police did not interfere with the actions of the protesters.
«Judges and prosecutors are trying to evade consideration of these cases. We see this both in the Supreme Court of Justice and here. I think that everyone understood that they have no documents against us. Political criminal cases are doomed. We always come to the courts, we will continue to come,» Dodon said.
About 8 criminal cases were initiated against the ex-president a year ago, 3 of them are being considered in courts. On Monday, two court hearings were scheduled — on the case of alleged falsification of a medical certificate and on a dossier on illegal schemes for the purchase of electricity in 2008-2009 through the state enterprise Energocom. The politician does not plead guilty, and court hearings are constantly postponed or postponed.
In October last year, another criminal case began against the ex-president of Moldova. According to the charges brought against Dodon, he is charged with accepting a bribe of up to $1 million from the former leader of the Democratic Party, oligarch Vladimir Plahotniuc. Allegedly, this money was requested by the ex-president to pay the current expenses of the Socialist Party, including the payment of salaries to employees of the same political force. Dodon completely denies his guilt and believes that the cases against him were opened for political reasons. The politician is under judicial supervision, he is forbidden to leave the country.
