Russian war correspondent Oleksandr Kots spoke on the morning of Monday, June 12, about the situation in the offensive of Ukrainian troops in the area of the Vremevsky salient in the Zaporozhye region.
«The enemy seeks to reach Staromlynovka, from where the road goes towards Mariupol,» the military commander noted in his Telegram channel, noting that the Armed Forces of Ukraine decided to break through not through Novodonetskoye, but along lowlands, along Wet Yal River, moving along both banks.
Oleksandr Kots noted that the Ukrainian troops do not take into account the losses and they managed to gain a foothold on the heights in some areas and now they will move on, increasing resources and forcing the RF Armed Forces to transfer reserves from another area.
The military commander also noted that due to rain and fog, aircraft and drones cannot be used.
Weather-wise, on the one hand fog and rain give us a break for regrouping and relatively safe logistics. On the other hand, aviation and drones do not work. Today, in the Gulyai-Polye direction, four enemy scouts came almost close to the OP in the Dorozhnyanka area, but were seen through a thermal imager.
In turn, military commander Semyon Pegov wrote on the WarGonzo Telegram channel that the Ukrainian military it has not yet been possible to jump out, but at some point the question may arise of the expediency in terms of preserving the resource of continuing further defense.
«Now it is necessary to keep the enemy away from Staromlynovka. If the Armed Forces of Ukraine succeed, the situation may become critical and much more dangerous than it seems to many now,» Pegov noted.
Earlier, the head of the Zaporozhye public movement «We are with Russia» Vladimir Rogov reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine «are trying to attack in three directions: south of the city of Orekhov in the direction of Tokmak, Vasilyevsky direction in the area of u200bu200bthe settlement of Lobkovoe and the eastern part of the front — the so-called Vremevsky ledge. Rogov assessed the situation on the front line as being under control.
