
CHISINAU, June 11 Two earthquakes of magnitude 3.2 and 2.2 occurred in Romania on Sunday afternoon, according to the National Institute for Research into the Development of Earth Physics.
«An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.2 occurred in Romania on Sunday afternoon, at 13.01 local time, in the Vrancea seismic zone, Vrancea County. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 94.8 kilometers,» the Romanian agency Agerpres refers to the institute's data.
Also on Sunday, at 15.45, in Oltenia, Gorj County, a weak earthquake of magnitude 2.2 was recorded at a depth of 13.2 kilometers.
In June, 13 earthquakes with magnitudes from 2 to 5.2 occurred in Romania, the largest number — seven of them — was recorded in the Krisana seismic zone, in Arad County. In particular, on Tuesday, a strong earthquake of magnitude 5.2 was recorded in Arad County, it damaged dozens of public institutions, including schools, hospitals, and hundreds of houses.
