Development of unmanned cargo delivery is carried out in accordance with the experimental legal regime (EPR) program. It says that on the M-11 highway it is allowed to operate unmanned vehicles that have been tested in the laboratory of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise «NAMI» for compliance with safety requirements and which the Ministry of Internal Affairs has registered as unmanned. So far, only KamAZ vehicles meet all the criteria.

Soon, unmanned trucks from another domestic developer, Sberavtotech, whose vehicles have also been certified by NAMI, should also enter the track. A number of other companies that have not yet passed certification are engaged in the creation of similar drones, the Ministry of Transport specified.

As Deputy Head of the Department Dmitry Bakanov noted, the Ministry of Transport will support Russian companies that develop such technologies without using budget funds.
