China predicted leadership in the outflow of millionaires in 2023, Russia in fourth place
China will again lose the largest number of dollar millionaires in 2023 due to migration. This forecast is given by CNBC, citing a study by the consulting company Henley & Partners.
In 2022, 10.8 thousand wealthy people migrated from China. In 2023, another 13.5 thousand rich people are expected to leave the country. The situation has nothing to do with the COVID-19 pandemic and has been observed for many years. Over the past 10 years, China has experienced the largest outflow of millionaires, which, according to experts, has led to a slowdown in the overall growth of wealth in the country.
Henley & Partners ranked India as the second largest outflow of millionaires. It is expected that 6.5 thousand millionaires will leave the country this year (against 7.5 thousand in 2022).
The United Kingdom will take the third place in terms of the departure of rich residents — 3.2 thousand millionaires.
As for Russia, it is expected that the number of millionaires in our country in 2023 will be reduced by 3 thousand. In 2022, the churn rate was much higher — 8.5 thousand. Russia thus occupies the fourth position in the Henley & Partners ranking.
