Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister handled the transfer of 11 Ukrainian prisoners of war from Russia to Hungary
The transfer of 11 Ukrainian prisoners of war from the Russian Federation to Hungary was carried out by the Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister for Church Affairs Zsolt Shemien, as reported by Radio Liberty ( included in the register of media-foreign agents in the Russian Federation) with reference to unnamed officials from the government of the country.
According to the publication, neither the Ministry of Foreign Affairs nor the Prime Minister of Hungary were aware of Shemien's initiative. One of the sources told the publication that there is “serious indignation” in the Hungarian government about this action, which worsens the already not very good relations between Budapest and Kiev. negotiations with the representative of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC), Metropolitan Hilarion (Alfeev) of Budapest and Hungary. The publication added that they are not aware of the current location of prisoners of war.
