NIZHNY NOVGOROD, June 15 An unscheduled inspection of children's health organizations will be arranged in the Nizhny Novgorod region after the death of a teenager who was resting in a country camp, the press service of the regional government reports.
Earlier it was reported that a 13-year-old teenager who was in a children's health camp in the Arzamas region had a fever, he was taken to an infectious diseases hospital, where he died. The regional department of Rospotrebnadzor reported that a streptococcal infection was found in the Zolotoy Kolos camp in the Arzamas region, and an epidemiological investigation was launched.
“Indeed, a child who was in the Zolotoy Kolos sanatorium and rehabilitation center died … The circumstances of the death are being established: it did not occur in the camp itself, but in a hospital in Nizhny Novgorod. We are collecting all the necessary information in order to restore the chain In addition, we are studying in detail the child’s history: when and what he was ill with, whether he had any chronic diseases,» the Minister of Health of the region, David Melik-Huseinov, said in the message.
In addition, earlier it was reported that several children became ill in the Lazurny camp in the Vyksa district, the prosecutor's office of the region and the department of Rospotrebnadzor are conducting checks.
«These two situations cannot be combined, they are caused by different reasons. On behalf of the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin, I headed the interdepartmental commission, the work is being carried out together with colleagues from Rospotrebnadzor, medical institutions, the Investigative Committee, the prosecutor's office. It is too early to talk about the end of the investigation,» — said Melik-Guseinov.
He noted that a comprehensive check is being carried out jointly with Rospotrebnadzor. “Firstly, we are studying what the children ate – we took swabs from the kitchen, as well as analyzes from all the employees of the institution. Secondly, we are studying how work was organized in the children’s camp,” the minister explained.
The Deputy Governor also noted that an unscheduled inspection of children's recreation organizations will be carried out in the region within two weeks. «If any shortcomings or comments are revealed, we will demand their prompt elimination,» he said.
